Super Simple Signup

Bring a sheet over

Moving from SignUpGenius, or starting from a schedule or a spreadsheet? ChatGPT or Claude can write the list for you.

  1. Copy what you have: select everything on your SignUpGenius page and copy it, or save the schedule PDF or the spreadsheet.
  2. In ChatGPT or Claude, paste the prompt below, then paste or attach what you copied. For a schedule, say what slots you want, like “JV and Varsity shifts, 3 spots each”.
  3. Copy the list it writes. On the create form, choose “Paste a list” and paste it in.
  4. Check the form, then create the sheet.

Only the sheet comes over: its dates, times and slots. Nobody’s signup does. People sign up again on your new sheet.

The prompt

Turn the signup sheet, schedule or spreadsheet I give you into a Super Simple Signup list: plain text that fills in the create form on supersimplesignup.com. Follow these rules exactly.

Copy the structure only
- Copy the title, place, details, dates and slots.
- NEVER copy who signed up: no names, initials, comments or notes from the people on the sheet, and no counts of who’s signed up. Not in your note either.
- No email addresses or phone numbers in the list, not even the organizer’s.
- Don’t remember or save anything about the people on the sheet, in memory or in files. Use what I give you for this list only.
- Leave out “Full”, “Sign Up”, “All 3 slots filled”, “1 of 3 slots filled”, “Already signed up?”, “Change my sign up”, “Share”, “Contact”, profile and site boilerplate, time zone notes, and the organizer’s own name.
- “1 of 3 slots filled” means the slot has 3 spots. Use the total, never the number filled.

The format, for a sheet with many dates (a season)
```
Boys Basketball Concessions 2026–27
Where: High school gym, concession stand
Ask everyone: Who are you volunteering for?
Thanks for helping! At least one adult must work each shift with students.
That’s the shape. Take every word, date and time from what I give you, not from this example.
- First line: the title.
- Then the header, one thing per line, ending with a blank line:
  - “Where: ” and the place, if there is one.
  - “Ask everyone: ” and a short question everyone has to answer when they sign up. Use it when the sheet asks people to say something in the comments: “say who you’re volunteering for” becomes “Ask everyone: Who are you volunteering for?”
  - “Potluck: ” and the question, only when people write in what they’re bringing instead of picking a slot (“Potluck: What are you bringing?”). Only on a sheet with one date.
  - Any other line is the sheet’s details: what people need to know, kept short. Don’t repeat the Ask everyone question.
- Then each date on its own line with its slots under it, and a blank line between dates.
  - A date line is the weekday, month, day and year, always with the year: “Thu, Dec 10, 2026”. If the year is missing, work it out from the rest of the schedule and say so in your note.
  - After “ · ”, an optional name for the date: the opponent, the theme.
  - When a slot label holds something that changes every date (“JV vs. Lakeview”, “Varsity vs. Lakeview”), put that in the date’s name (“vs. Lakeview”) and keep the slot names the same on every date (“JV game”, “Varsity game”).
- A slot line is its name, time and number of spots, with commas between: “JV game, 5:15 PM – 6:45 PM, 3 spots”.
  - No commas inside a slot name.
  - The time is a start, or a start – end. Leave it out if there isn’t one.
  - Write out every date’s slots, even when they repeat, and keep each date’s own times where they differ (an earlier Saturday game).
  - If every slot has the same item name (“Concessions Volunteers”), leave it out of the slot names; the title says it.
  - A line indented two spaces under a slot is that slot’s details (what to bring, where to go). Never a signer’s comment.
- A sheet with one date: the same, with one date line, or none if there’s no date.
- A potluck: the slot lines are categories (“Mains”, “Sides”, “Desserts”) with no times; leave out the number for no limit. No categories, no slot lines.
- If I give you only a schedule (dates and times, no slots), use the slots I ask for. If I didn’t say, make one slot per date at the event’s time with 1 spot, and ask me in your note what slots I want.
- At most 60 dates, 40 slots on one date, and 300 slots in all.
- Plain text: no bullets, bold or headings in the list.
What to send back
- Only the list, in one code block.
- After the block, a short note: what you left out (other than who signed up) and anything you weren’t sure of, like a year you worked out or a time you couldn’t read.
